“I got to sleep at about 5 o’clock this morning,” Jackson told reporters before the game while watching her teammates warm up. “Brian (Agler) was nice enough to say, ‘You don’t have to get up at 7 o’clock and come to shootaround today,’ so that was lovely of him. I slept about five hours. I’m still a bit dazed and confused. I feel good. I’m really excited to be back. I just had the best time at home. All good things come to an end, so it’s time to start a new chapter here in Seattle.”
“It was sad leaving,” Jackson said. “Leaving my mum and dad at the airport yesterday, I was teary-eyed.”

"There is a different approach. There's a different feel to it," Cash said. "I feel like I'm in good shape, Lauren's coming in healthy, and there's Sue. It's kind of scary to see what we can be when everyone is healthy."

Both returnees are vying for roster spots. They have an edge because they know coach Brian Agler's system, but chemistry could play a part, too. They displayed their enduring personality on Monday. "Ashley Robinson is a doll," said Devanei Hampton, who played college hoops at California with Walker. "She's more of a sister and Ashley Walker is more like a mom. So there's a whole family thing going on. Ashley Robinson has a lot of experience in the WNBA and, as far as myself, I go to Ashley Robinson or Camille if I need anything or if I'm not understanding anything. Ashley (Walker) -- she has to deal with me either way."

"It feels like game time," said guard Lindsey Wilson, one of eight new faces. "Like the season is getting started. This week in practice we will definitely notice a difference."

"Being a Seattle girl, it's very nice to be home - mom's home cooking and all that," she said. "There's a lot of people I haven't maybe kept contact with, but they come out of the woodwork - people who have seen me play over the years. It's always fun to see people you haven't seen in a while."

Two-time league Most Valuable Player Jackson played for the Canberra Capitals rather than in Russia with Moscow Spartak as in prior years, reducing the soreness and fatigue that nagged her at the start of prior Storm seasons.

"I just had such a great time at home. I really would love to stay in Australia forever," Jackson said.

After a gruelling flight, Jackson made it to the Storm's annual media day, where she posed with one of the club's cheerleaders, as well as a bobble-head doll of herself, before, exhausted, she hit the floor to complete some paperwork, above.

"I think everybody in Australia would love to play WNBA," said Bishop. "There's only a few Aussies playing in the league, so for me to come here and get a chance to prove myself is huge - especially because I'm 21. I would have one more year of college left. I think I'm up for the challenge. I've been working hard in the gym and getting prepared."

"China was very good for me," Cash said at the Storm's Media Day Monday at KeyArena. "I'm glad I made the decision to go. Being over there, there's only one American per team. It's been a long time since I've been in that leadership role - not only just doing the little things but having to score, having to rebound, having to get steals, do everything to lead the team. That made me work even harder to get my game back where it needs to be. It's very physical over there."

Media members waiting for player interviews at Seattle Storm Media Day weren't exactly expecting center Ashley Robinson and forward Ashley Walker to have a joint interview.

When one media member asked if they were comfortable doing the interview together, Robinson said something to the effect of she can hear anything I have to say to you all.

Apparently they're "the Ashleys and we act. like. the Ashleys."
